2026 Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra (Chariot Walk)

HTCC warmly invites everyone to participate in this year’s auspicious Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra, to be held on Saturday, 18 July 2026.

Sankalp Puja will be conducted from 9:00 am to 10:00 am before the Pahandi ceremony. Devotees wishing to participate in the Sankalp Puja may do so with a donation of $101.

Shree Jagannātha Ratha Yātrā Festival Schedule

All devotees are warmly invited to join the sacred celebrations, darshan, kirtan, satsang, seva and Jagannātha Prasādam.

(We will have our main Ratha Yātrā chariot walk on Sat 18 July.)
Ratha Yātrā Tithi Puja, Arati, Temple Parikrama of Chaturdha Vigraha and aboding on to the Mahadevi asana made for 9 days celebrations, Bhajan/Kirtan and Jagannātha Prasādam (Bhojan Prasad). The deities will stay here until Niladri Bije on Sunday 26 July.
 

Please arrive at 5:45 PM for a 6:00 PM start.
6:00 PM – 7:15 PM: Ratha Yātrā Puja, Mandir Parikrama of Jagannatha
7:15 PM – 8:00 PM: Temple Arati
Followed by Bhojan and Jagannātha Prasādam.

Friday, 24 July 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Bahudā Yātrā (Mahāprabhu Jagannātha returns to the Temple/Shree Mandira after the 9 days Yātrā) Bahudā Puja, Mandira Parikrama with Jagannātha, Arati, Bhajan/Kirtan, Bhojan Jagannātha Prasādam and Suna Vesha (Golden Attire) preparation for Ekadashi Darshana.
Saturday, 25 July All day during temple hours Suna Vesha (Golden Attire of Jagannātha) – a rare Darshana on this Maha Ekadashi (Deva Sayani Ekadashi) Suna Besha Darshana, Arati and Jagannātha Prasādam from 8:00 PM.
Sunday, 26 July 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Niladri Bije Concluding celebration with Puja, Arati, Bhajan/Kirtan and Bhojan Prasadam. Jagannātha Chaturdha Murti will be aboded to their Rathna Singhāsana. Viswa Shānti Pātha.

 

Detailed Program – Saturday, 18 July 2026

8:00 AM – 9:00 AM Final Event Preparation Chariot, Deities, Puja area, sound system, volunteer badges, prasadam area and crowd management arrangements.
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM Sankalpa Puja All Pahandi volunteers should attend the Sankalpa Puja before taking part in Pahandi Seva.
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM Pahandi Seva Taking Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannātha, Shree Balabhadra, Maa Subhadra and Chakra Raj Sudarshana to the Ratha with Vedic chanting and kirtan.
During Pahandi Chera Pahara Seva Senior devotees will perform Chera Pahara by sprinkling water and cleaning the path with broom seva, symbolising humility and devotion.
10:30 AM – 10:50 AM Group Photo Welcoming guests, community leaders, devotees and volunteers, followed by a group photo.
10:50 AM – 11:00 AM Chariot Walk Preparation Safety briefing, rope arrangement, kirtan team positioning and route readiness.
11:00 AM – 12:30 PM Ratha Yātrā Chariot Walk Chariot procession from the temple with kirtan, bhajan, Ghanta, Shankha, Tala and Mrudanga.
12:30 PM – 1:00 PM Return Pahandi and Arati The Lords return to the temple through Pahandi Seva, followed by Arati.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Jagannātha Prasādam and Cultural Program Jagannātha Prasādam distribution and devotional cultural presentations in the Shāntineketan.
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM Cleaning Sevā Cleaning of temple premises, outdoor area, kitchen/prasadam area, Ratha items and event materials.

 

Important Notes for Devotees and Volunteers

  • Devotees joining Pahandi Seva are requested to arrive at 8:30 AM on Saturday, 18 July 2026 and attend the Sankalpa Puja.
  • Pahandi volunteers (devotees interested in handling the vigrahas) are requested to wear Indian traditional clothes and maintain the sanctity of the seva throughout the program.
  • Devotees are welcome to participate in kirtan, chariot pulling, prasadam serving and cleaning seva as guided by the organising volunteers.
  • Jagannātha Prasādam will be served after Arati and during the cultural program on Saturday, 18 July 2026.
  • Please follow the instructions of the temple volunteers during the procession for safety, crowd movement and smooth darshan.
  • Please follow the parking guidelines.
  • Parents are requested to take care of the safety of their children.
