Objectives & Activities

Many Hindus and believers from various parts of the world have made Canberra their home. They share their beliefs and philosophy with generations of Australians who have studied and appreciated the Hindu way of life and culture. 

Yoga for Wellbeing

The HTCC in collaboration with our active and trained volunteers is running weekly Yoga sessions every week. Please get in touch via WhatsApp or text if you would like to join.

Support for Seniors

HTCC is soon starting a weekly meetup program for our senior community and are looking for ideas/suggestions and support from you. Please get in touch with us to discuss more.

Educational Activities

The HTCC is a centre for many educational activities, such as Vedic maths, languages (Hindi, Sanskrit and other regional), programming/coding, robotics for Kids & adults at temple premises. 

Priest Services

Our Priest performs the Pooja at Temple, can perform Pooja at your resident/business etc), performs Car and other Bigger Machinery / equipment Pooja. You may contact the Priest for Business Inauguration Pooja.

Support for Community

HTCC does offer facilities and related equipment to promote and support Hindu community, such as Shantiniketan Hall Hire and Temple Shrine booking for special prayers/religious event s. Please get in touch with us to discuss further.

Cultural Activities

HTCC is looking forward to meet with Dance (classical and traditional) and music teachers to resume Kids and adult classes at temple premises.

Respect for our devotees & community

This commonality of interest is enshrined in the following objectives of the HTCC:


  • To promote an understanding of the teachings, philosophy and culture of Hinduism;

  • To provide facilities to engage in Hindu religious and cultural activities, including the practice of Yoga and meditation;

  • To foster religious harmony, mutual understanding and respect for religious views of others and promote universal brotherhood;

  • To provide moral and spiritual support to the needy;

  • To build, maintain and operate a Hindu temple, a Cultural Centre, a Library and other facilities to achieve the above objectives and purposes.

  • Hindu Temple & Cultural Centre of the ACT is an organisation whose members are dedicated to the provision of an understanding of the teachings, philosophy and culture of Hindu religion.

We strive to perform such tasks as may be necessary and conducive to the moral, spiritual, and cultural upliftment of the mankind.

For the following categories there will be NO sponsorship fee or charges – donations are most welcome. Sponsors can offer bhojan-prasad or simple prasad as per their convenience. 

There are two conditions: (a) the final aarati will be performed by Punditji and (b) the aarati thaali offerings will be part of the HTCC hundi collection. 


  • For the functions that the HTCC is celebrating, devotees can sponsor and participate in the puja.

  • For the functions that a devotee or a group of devotees wants to sponsor and the function is open to the entire community.
    Such as Satyanarayan Puja (public) & celebrating Vivekananda’s birthday (or similar) and invite entire community.
