Gita Jayanti - Mokshada Ekadashi

We warmly invite all families and children to join in this celebration.

  • Bring your children and youth—let them connect with this treasure of wisdom that protects life from worldly miseries and diseases.
  • Together, let us recite a chapter of the Gita (Pundit ji will lead), offer puja and bhajans, and engage in seva. Please bring some flowers and prasadam to offer.
  • We kindly invite you to record a few selected shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita and share the recordings with us. We also encourage children to participate by reciting and sending their recordings, so that they may engage with the wisdom of the Gita in a joyful and meaningful way.

Bhagavad Gita Jayanti, the sacred day when Bhagwan Krishna revealed the eternal wisdom of the Vedic Shastra to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.
Bhagavad Gita is the essence of the Upanishads, the science of Brahma-vidya (knowledge of the Absolute) and the Yoga Shastra. It is in the Bhishma Parva of the Mahabharata. It is not merely a scripture, it is a manual for life for all human beings, teaching us how to rise above confusion, fear, and sorrow.

Teachings of the Gita

  • It teaches Yoga: understanding and attaining the state of Kaivalya that unites with the Supreme Purushottama.
  • It reveals Purushottama (Atma, Paramatma or ParamBrahma): Chapter 15 – Purushottama Yoga
  • It teaches how to align Gyana, Karma and Bhakti: Vedic wisdom and action in daily life.
  • It aligns us with Dharma: living responsibly and righteously.
  • It grants immunity from three types of worldly miseries:
    • Adhibhoutic Dukha (material/worldly troubles)
    • Adidaivic Dukha (natural/divine forces)
    • Adhyatmic Dukha (inner, mental and spiritual struggles)
    • Like the lotus flower, untouched by mud, we too can remain pure amidst worldly challenges.
