Adhara Panā (Adhara – lips; Panā – a sweet herbal drink) is a unique and ancient tradition in which a sweet sacred drink is offered in large earthen pots to Shree Jagannātha, Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Sudarshana while They remain on the chariot. The offering is traditionally made to the countless divine attendants, all avatāras of Param Brahma Shree Purushottama (Vaishnava, Shākta and Shaiva) accompanying Mahaprabhu during Ratha Yātrā. The pots are then ceremonially broken, signifying acceptance of the offering.

This is followed by Niladri Bije, when Mahaprabhu returns to the Ratna Singhāsana (Jeweled Throne), marking the completion of the annual Ratha Yātrā celebrations.
